Biomass Microwave Carbonizer (BMC) won Gold Medal at ITEX

KUALA LUMPUR– Biomass Microwave Carbonizer (BMC) invention by Assoc. Prof Dr Mohamad Amran Mohd Salleh and  Prof. Dr. Azni Idris, from Faculty of Engineering won Gold medal in the 29rd International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX) at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 12 May 2018. UPM submitted 4 projects under the Invention Competition category in ITEX 2018.

Biomass Microwave Carbonizer (BMC) adopts innovative clean technology using microwave energy to burn biomass wastes and agricultural wastes into high grade of biochar.

 

It is highly efficient and environmental friendly system which gives innovative way of handling variety of biomass wastes include fuel wood, forestry wastes, crop residues, landscape residues, domestic wastes and animal wastes.
