Technology Transfer & Innovation Commercialisation Section (PSP)

The Technology Transfer & Innovation Commercialisation Section at Universiti Putra Malaysia serves as a key driver in translating research outputs into high-impact innovations through structured intellectual property (IP) management, technology transfer, and effective commercialisation pathways with industry partners. This section ensures that IP generated by researchers is strategically protected, managed, and transformed into market-ready solutions that benefit both industry and society.

Functions:

  • Provides advisory services to UPM researchers on intellectual property commercialisation, including market potential assessment, IP protection strategies, and pathways towards industrial application.
  • Manages the commercialisation of UPM intellectual property and facilitates engagement, negotiations, and collaboration with industry partners for licensing, technology adoption, and joint development initiatives.
  • Monitors financial obligations under commercialisation agreements, including royalty tracking and revenue distribution, to ensure compliance and fair benefit-sharing between researchers and the university.

Responsible Officers (Technology Transfer with Industry Partners):

The technology transfer process with external industry partners is supported by dedicated officers according to their respective expertise clusters:

  • Norhadida Irdayu Mohd Hanafi – Agriculture and Food Security Cluster
