PSP organise Putra Cipta Press Conference Post Covid-19

SERDANG, May 11, 2022 – The Innovation Promotion and Marketing Section of PSP UPM successfully organised the first Putra Cipta Press Conference for 2022 after almost 2 years of inability due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

According to Asrizam Esam, Research Officer of PSP, the last time the implementation of the Putra Cipta Press Conference was on 5 December 2019 which was held at the Faculty of Engineering in conjunction with the 7th International Symposium on Applied Engineering and Sciences 2019 (SAES2019).

 

Putra Cipta Press Conference was held in conjunction with the Licensing Agreement (MoA) signing ceremony between UPM and Nextgreen Pulp & Paper (NGPP) Sdn Bhd to commercialise nanocellulose innovation from oil palm biomass to produce plastic-free food packaging products.

 

Putra Cipta Press Conference is one of the collaboration activities between the Corporate Strategy and Communication Office of UPM and PSP to promote innovation or products by UPM researchers through mass media to highlight to the industry and the community.

 

According to Wan Nuryani Bt Wan Mohamed Rosly, The Executive Officer of PSP as the coordinating officer of the Putra Create Press Conference, the implementation of the first press conference was planned in a short period of time following the PSPK's recommendation on the permission of the media to enter UPM recently and the duration of Ramadan which is in line with the media's availability.

 

The Putra Cipta Press Conference Series 1/2022 highlighted the innovation of Dr. Muhammad Fadhil Syukri Ismail from the Faculty of Agriculture, FS Feed - Innovation of Living Food Replacement in the Aquaculture Industry.

 

FS Feed has received numerous awards including gold medalists at The International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX 2021), International Conference and Exposition on Inventions by Institutions of Higher Learning (PECIPTA 2019), and has been nominated in the list of five (5) best innovations in the Business Pitch Plan organised by PECIPTA 2019.

 

The press conference is the kickstart for the UPM start-up company to operate actively since the Government has stopped the Covid-19 Restriction Movement. 

 

The ongoing collaboration with the media is expected to optimise market opportunities with the visibility of UPM's innovations and products to be published in local newspapers.
