Peatland forest fires are a serious threat to the biodiversity-ecosystem and to human health in South East Asia, especially in the dry season. Combination of harsh terrain and landscape, wide land area and lack manpower to obtain in-situ peatland forest data became the challenges for management and monitoring purposes. Hence, Internet of Thing (IoT) sensor based remote monitoring and management getting a lot of attention due to its long range capability, low power consumption and cheaper module system. Moreover, fertile peatland soil offer various fauna and farming trees (e.g. palm oil tree) to growth in short time which creates diverse vegetation terrain formation spreading across the peatland forest. In the sense of sensor-based remote monitoring using Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN), radio frequency (RF) signal is prone to attenuation due to free space propagation phenomena such as scattering, reflection and diffraction. This poster presents an RF measurement campaign using LoRa sensor node at various locations and land uses within Raja Musa Forest reserve (RMFR) , Selangor, Malaysia. Test file were transmitted and received using seven channel, pairs of six Data Rate and Spreading Factor and execution using script. The in-situ file transfer success rate reveals that the pair with higher Data Rate and Spreading Factor
