Malaysia wins three recognitions through Southeast and South Asia Innovation Awards - ASTRO AWANI on 22/9/2021

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has received three recognitions through the recent Southeast and South Asia Innovation Awards by Clarivate Plc, a global leader in disseminating information and trusted insights to accelerate innovation.

Clarivate said in a statement that Malaysia won three awards in three different categories, namely academic institutions through Universiti Putra Malaysia, a government research organisation covered by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board and a company through Top Glove Corporation Bhd.

A total of 27 winners from 276 organizations were announced at the Innovation Forum for the region on September 21.

The award is based on the analysis of the number of patents, the number of collections, the success of patents and the level of globalization in the use of patents, using data from Derwent World Patents Index (TM) (DWPI) and Derwent Patent Citations Index (TM) (DPCI).

"The criteria used to select the best innovators from South Asia and Southeast Asia are similar to the criteria used by the annual Top 100 Global Innovators (TM) that identify organizations that reflect superiority in the global innovation landscape," Clarivate said.
