SHAH ALAM, Oct 2, 2019 - The PSP and the Selangor State Secretariat (SUK) Office for the first time organized an Intellectual Property Management and Commercialization Seminar in conjunction with the organization of Expo Research, Development and Innovation (R, D & I) Selangor 2019 from October 10 to 13. 2019, at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur
The organization of the seminar is aimed at raising the level of awareness, acceptance and understanding of the importance of intellectual property management and commercialization. PSP UPM as the leading technology transfer and technology management center in Selangor will share its experience in intellectual property management and commercialization with all attendees.
This one-day seminar is intended to expose Research, Development and Commercialization (R, D&C) ecosystem management to both educational institutions and corporate companies.
According to Hafliza Husin, the PSP Executive Officer as coordinator of the seminar also said that the seminar would also provide insight into the process and importance of intellectual property protection management in the development of a product or service as well as give participants exposure to models or theories related to commercialization of Intellectual Property.
"We aim to provide participants with opportunities to discuss the process of filing intellectual property internationally and also to give participants exposure to the best practices of Intellectual Property Management in Educational Institutions," he said.
The seminar will also be a platform for sharing experiences and expertise to discuss issues related to intellectual property management and commercialization.
The seminar will be hosted by speakers and invitation panels from academia and industry open to all participants and exhibitors in conjunction with the program.
Selangor State Expo Research, Development and Innovation (R, D & I) 2019 is the first time organized by the Selangor SUK Office. Various interesting programs and key activities were also held at the Selangor State Innovation Awards (AINS) 2019, Selangor International, Selangor ASEAN Business Conference and Selangor Smart City Convention.
