SERDANG, June 18 – The Site Assessment Audit for the Malaysian Research Assessment Star Rating (MyRA) for 2018 achievement was held at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) from 17 to 18 June 2019 located at Putra Science Park UPM.
The audit organized by Ministry of Education (MOE) was conducted to verify data submitted by UPM for the Malaysia Research Assessment (MyRA) 2018 exercise, with supporting evidence.
Chairman of the Audit Panel, Dato’ Prof. Emeritus Dr. Md. Ikram Mohd Saad from UKM, said his group was pleased with the achievement of UPM as a Research University (RU) with its orderly MyRA data management.
“To ensure that UPM retains the Research University status, the involvement of all stakeholders in contributing their research output in MyRA is a very important instrument for enhancing UPM marks in MyRA II,” he said.
The audit panel comprised Dato’ Prof. Emeritus Dr. Muhammad Yahaya, Dato Prof Dr.Mohamed Isa Abdul Majid, Prof. Dr. Hamzah Jusoh, Prof Ir Megat Johari Megat Mohd Noor and Prof. Dr Che Hassan Che Haron that verify all the document provided from Research Management Centre, Putra Science Park, School of Graduate Studies and various entities in UPM to fulfill 51 Myra criteria.
Findings of the audit panel were presented at the Mini Auditorium, Office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation)with the presence of UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof Datin Paduka Datuk Dr. Aini Ideris, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Zulkifli Idrus and also in attendance were two representatives of the RU Task Force, Prof. Dr. Shahir SHamsir Omar and Prof. Dr. Phua Kia Kien.
UPM Ratings as a research university has a very positive impact on the University and it is in line with the UPM strategic planning PG200 that achievable recently.
