SERDANG, July 5 – UPM has successfully pass the evaluation assesment for Malaysia Research Assessment (MyRA) Year 2021 by the Panel of Valuers from the Ministry of Higher Education on 5th and 6th July 2022 involving UPM's research, innovation and support entities. The MyRA evaluation or audit session coordinated by the Office of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) UPM  and Research Management Centre will be held at Putra Science Park.

This is the second annual Assessment Programme since 2021 when the university reopened again due to the Covid-19 Movement Control Order (MCO). As a result of the pandemic, the Audit Assessment had to be postponed several times.

On the first day of the agenda is the Introductory Meeting in the presence of YH. Prof. Dato' Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman, the Vice-Chancellor of UPM, UPM Top Management, Panels,  headed by YBhg. Dato' Prof. Emeritus Dr. Muhammad Yahaya from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia,TaskForce, Secretariat and representative from the Department of Higher Education (MOHE) and representatives from UPM itself. The audit took place for two days, from 5th July 2022 and 6th July 2022.

Universiti Putra Malaysia is the first Public University to be audited for 2022. MyRA® Achievement Site Assessment is used to assess the achievement level of Institutions of Higher Learning (IPT) in Malaysia to excel in research. MyRA® is an instrument to assess research capabilities at the institutional level. It measures excellence by assessing the distance of an IPT from a profile (benchmark) defined as outstanding for a research university in the country.

The Closing ceremony  of this event was officiated by YBhg Prof. Dr. Nazamid bin Saari as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) of Universiti Putra Malaysia.
